EMT-Basic Refresher Classes (RTPs)
Please read the following section carefully: There are now 2 different options for taking the EMT-Basic Refresher class. The McGregor Institute is prepared to help you recertify using either method. The differences between the two methods are shown below.
Traditional Recertification:
- Accrue 48 hours of CEU’s – Attend CEU Days to earn 22 CEU's
- Complete a 24 hour Refresher Training Program (RTP)
- Pass a State Practical Exam (most be completed after completing the RTP)
New Alternative Recertification Method (called Exam in Lieu Of):
The NH Bureau of EMS now allows EMT-Basics to recertify by taking the NREMT Basic written examination only; no CEUs, no RTP (refresher training program) and no practical examination are required. To view the state document click here.
- Register to take the computer based exam at the National Registry website
- Take and pass the computer based exam for your level of certification.*
- The McGregor “Written Exam Prep Day” is specifically designed to help you pass the National Registries Cognitive Exam
- Complete the required NREMT documentation (which will be mailed after you pass the exam)
- Present a copy of the NREMT documentation to the geographically appropriate Education Specialist who will review the documentation. The state will issue a “Certificate of Completion” within 14 days of receipt of proper documentation.
- Submit the NREMT paperwork and the original State of New Hampshire ”Certificate of Completion” to the National Registry.
* Note: You only have one chance to pass the written exam. If you choose the Exam in Lieu Of method and fail the written exam then your only option is to refresh using the traditional manner.
EMT Basic Refresher Course
- February 12-14, 2010
- Friday's class will be from 6:30pm-10:00pm
- Saturday and Sunday, February 13th and 14th classes will be from 8:00am-8:00pm

Who
This class satisfied the RTP requirement for those EMTs wishing to recertify via the traditional method.

Refund Policy
McGregor Institute plans several aspects of its courses around the number of people registered. For this reason, we have established the following policy regarding cancellations. Those registrants who cancel 30 or more days prior to the start of class will be issued a refund minus a $50.00 administrative fee. Cancellations made within 30 days but at least 2 business days prior to the start of the class will be charged the lesser of $200 or the cost of the class. No refunds within two business days.

NREMT-Basic Written Exam Prep Day

Who
This class is designed specifically for those EMTs wishing to recertify via the new, “Exam in Lieu Of” process approved by the Bureau of EMS prepare to pass the NREMT’s Cognitive Examination.
