Ambulance as Taxi: Avoiding Medically Unnecessary Transports
As call volumes increase and financial pressures mount, EMS services are forced to find creative solutions to old problems. One possibility that some services have explored is to have EMS responders act as gatekeepers for those lower acuity cases that do not require an ambulance. This session will discuss the ways that some services have addressed these issues while maintaining patient safety and high-customer satisfaction.
