Renew Your Healthcare Provider CPR Certification

How does it work?
To become certified in Healthcare Provider CPR or to renew your Healthcare Provider CPR credential, you will complete an online program through the American Heart Association. Then, you will coordinate with the McGregor Institute of EMS to complete the skills test.

Who should take Healthcare Provider CPR?
Healthcare Provider CPR is intended for Healthcare Professionals (doctors, nurses, EMTs, firefighters, athletic trainers, etc.) who may, in the normal scope of their job, be required perform CPR.

Can I renew my Healthcare Provider card this way, too?
Yes, the requirements are the same whether you are renewing or taking the class for the first time.

How long will it take?
The online component will take approximately 1-2 hours. The skills test will take approximately 30 minutes.

How much does it cost?
The fee for the online training portion is $17.50, payable directly to the American Heart Association. The fee for the skills test, administered by McGregor Institute of EMS is $20.00.

Can you test our whole group at one time?
We certainly can. Please contact us to schedule a date and time for the skills test.

How do I get started?

  1. Log on to the AHA website and purchase access to the online education module, “BLS HCP Online Part 1” http://www.onlineaha.org/index.cfm?fuseaction=info.bls
  2. Request a testing date with the McGregor Institute of EMS using the online registration system: http://www.mcgregorems.org/institute/cpr-register.html. Please be sure to indicate “test only” in the question & comment section of the form.

After successfully completing the online portion and the skills test, you will receive a traditional Healthcare Provider CPR card, just as you would for completing the training in a traditional classroom setting.

Still have questions?
Feel free contact us at (603) 862-3674 or via e-mail. We look forward to working with you.
