EMT Basic

There are two required texts for the EMT-Basic course. They are Prehospital Emergency Care (9th Edition) by Joseph Mistovich and the accompanying workbook both published by Brady/Prentice Hall.

EMT-Basic Exam Review
 

There is one recommended book for this class. It is the EMT-Basic Exam Review by Richard A. Cherry published by Prentice Hall. This book helps users prepare for the EMT-B certification exam. It contains over 1,0000 questions, an answer key that provides a rational for each correct answer, and tips for improving learning performance. Key topics covered include preparatory, airway, patient assessment, medical emergencies, trauma, infants and children, operations, and advanced airway.

EMT-Basic Exam Review

EMT Intermediate

There are two required texts for the EMT Intermediate course. The first is Intermediate Emergency Care: 1985 Curriculum (3rd Edition) by Cherry et al. and published by Prentice Hall. The first four chapters of this book should be read before the first class.

The second text is Basic Arrhythmias (6th Edition) by Gail Walraven. There is also an optional (but highly recommended) review manual for Intermediate Emergency Care.
