Riding As An Observer

McGregor Memorial EMS offers a program, which allows the public to observe on ambulance calls.  People interested in learning about the Emergency Medical Services or McGregor are encouraged to ride along.  Observers spend time at the McGregor EMS station and respond with the ambulance as calls occur.  Applications for riding as an observer can be downloaded below.  In addition to completing the application, prospective volunteers should also plan to attend an orientation session.  Email Ian Hanley at membership@mcgregorems.org to set-up a time to do an observer orientation.

Observers are allowed to ride on all calls at the discretion of the Crew Chief. At the discretion of the Crew Chief, Observers may perform basic tasks. More information can be found with the application below. To view the observer program guidelines click here.

If you are interested in joining McGregor as an EMT, you are required to observe for 32 hours of observation time during a 30 day period before your application can be considered complete. If you are interested in joining please give an ‘Observer Feedback Form’ to a member you worked with during your observation time. More specific direction on this can be found on the form at the McGregor station. For those who have done 32 hours of observation time and are interested in joining can find the application form here.
