Riding as an Observer
McGregor Memorial EMS (formerly Durham Ambulance Corps) offers a program which allows the public to observe on ambulance calls. People interested in learning about the Emergency Medical Services, McGregor, or its volunteers are encouraged to ride along. Observers spend time at the McGregor EMS station and respond with the ambulance as calls occur. Applications for riding as an observer can be downloaded below. In addition to completing the application, prospective volunteers should also plan to attend an orientation session. Email Chris at CLemelin@McGregorEMS.org to RSVP for one of our weekly orientations (listed below) or to setup an alternate time:
- Fridays 4:30-5:30pm
- Wednesday 9:00-10:00am
- Other times can be scheduled by emailing Chris Lemelin at CLemelin@McGregorEMS.org
If you are interested in joining McGregor as an EMT, the application process and form can be found here.
Observers are allowed to ride on all calls at the discretion of the Crew Chief. At the discretion of the Crew Chief, Observers may perform basic tasks. More information can be found with the application below. To view the observer program guidelines click here.
