Applying For Membership
Thank you for your interest in becoming a member of McGregor EMS!

McGregor is a volunteer, non-profit organization that provides high-quality emergency ambulance service to the communities of Durham, Lee, Madbury, and the University of New Hampshire.
Our membership consists of highly trained, professional providers certified as EMT-Basics, Advanced EMTs, and Paramedics, as well as non-medical associate members.
Application Process: McGregor utilizes a competitive application process to select the best potential volunteers. Unfortunately, this means sometimes we have more applicants than we are able to accommodate and as a result may defer potential applications. Although the application process with relevant forms is detailed below please feel free to contact the Membership Coordinator with any questions you may have. These steps do not need to be completed in order and many applicants find that it is easiest to work on more than one part of the process at a time.

Complete the McGregor Membership Application
The Membership Application Link can be found at the top of this page! Take the time to fill it out accurately and be sure to sign it at the end. Once submitted, you will be prompted to schedule an interview with the membership coordinator. This can be completed prior to observing.
Observe with McGregor EMS
All potential McGregor volunteers spend time participating in the McGregor Observer Program. We require 40 hours of observation time prior to hiring. This provides a valuable opportunity to spend time at the station and go on ambulance calls as they occur. Please contact the membership coordinator if you have any questions about this requirement or for assistance scheduling shifts.

Additional Information: We encourage you to provide us with any additional information that might aid us in evaluating your applications. Examples of additional information include a resume, explanation as to why you wish to volunteer, and so forth. Forms can be uploaded along with the application.
Ensure that three references have been turned into the Membership Coordinator
Each applicant must provide three character references to the Membership Coordinator. The person completing the reference may use the link provided.
Meet with the Membership Coordinator for an Interview.
The applicant and Membership Coordinator will meet to discuss the time spent observing and answer any remaining questions the applicant has. This is also an opportunity to discuss the Probationary Provider training program. If you have any difficulty with the link to schedule an appointment at the end of the application or do not receive one, please reach out to the membership coordinator.
It is our goal to make the membership application process as quick and simple as possible while still providing ample opportunities to communicate and get to know one another. For help with any part of this process please do not hesitate to contact the membership coordinator or call the McGregor station. We look forward to having you join our team!
